Tarot Reader Ireland. Tarot and Tea by Caroline

Updated: Oct 5
Hi I'm Caroline, a Tarot card reader based in Dublin, Ireland.
Of all the cards, I relate to The Queen of Wands' passion, the Magician's ability to manifest, The High Priestess' intuition and the The Tower's ongoing need for transformation.
Then, after all that deep transformation, I love to look to heaven and witness the light and hope of The Star.
I give Tarot readings online, so you can ask me 1-3 questions and I reply within a few days with a photo of your spread and a detailed, illustrated reading.

As a child I was very sensitive to energy and had already had spiritual experiences, but after an intense and unexpected out of body experience in 2007, my connection only grew stronger. I love to give Tarot readings that offer self reflection, and provide new perspectives on situations.
As well as giving Tarot readings, I have been giving Usui Reiki sessions and classes for over 14 years and also do astrology readings, including birth charts and transits. Using Oracle and Tarot has always been part of my energy healing "work" but in the past few works I have really studied Tarot more deeply.
Somehow we often know, deep down, the answers to our deepest questions - and the Tarot can be a lovely confirmation of that. Tarot is a playful and powerful way to connect with our Higher Self.
Tarot and Tea...
At one point in time, I was skeptical of Tarot, and not because I didn't think it was powerful - but because "future divination" was, I believed, best left to fate, and best of all, to personal choice.
And now... I have developed a different, personal relationship to the Tarot reflected in my intuitive readings: The Tarot has, over time, shown me the best way to use its traditional guidance. Interestingly, Tarot history has many twists and turns and has been used in different, unexpected ways through the centuries. More on Tarot history to follow soon...
When I think of my kind of Tarot reading, I think of a good, strong cup of tea, a cat perched snugly on the armchair (The Queen of Wands would so love my cat, Zara), and my well worn Tarot card deck.

My personal Tarot readings are about a moment of reflection in the day. Rather than having occasionally looping thoughts, with nowhere to settle, I may ask the Tarot for some advice. Shuffling the deck, I ask my question clearly and set my intention that the cards reveal themselves with clarity "if and only if it is for the highest good". If I am doing a reading doe someone else, I take exactly the same approach. I also like to light a candle, and burn sage or Palo Santo to clear the cards before and after each reading.
I love it when there are repeated cards and patterns across spreads - hard to ignore!
Over time, the cards hold their traditional meanings but also share their messages in a personal way that I have grown familiar with.
If I see the Page of Cups for umpteenth time, for example, I am mindful who, exactly, he is turning around to look at with his heartfelt but tentative gesture - the fish springing out of the cup. If he is looking at the vengeful figure in the 5 of Swords, his olive branch may well be discarded at best, but if he is reaching out to The Queen of Cups, he may find himself getting a warm reception...The Queen of Swords may expect more than a fish to establish better relations...

And I still believe the most powerful choices are still with us in the present moment.
Tarot is wonderful at showing the influences that are around us in the present time, and fully knowing these, we can then shape our own future attitudes and decision making. With that said, I do see the Tarot as entertainment too, and not as a substitute for important advice.
Intuitive Tarot Readings by - Caroline, Tarot Reader Ireland.
I use Tarot spreads to display a recent past, present, and possible future outcome.
I also draw a few cards and stack them, one on top of the other on the central card to elaborate on influences affecting the present moment. This gives a particularly detailed and nuanced reading with lots to reflect on.

Why Tarot?
...And why the Rider Waite Tarot, of all decks?
I am drawn to all kinds of decks besides Rider Waite, particularly those with beautiful mystical images available for Oracle and Tarot.
But I do keep coming back to the traditional Rider Waite deck...
The Rider Waite deck perfectly illustrates the archetypes through the Major Arcana and Minor Arcana. To me, there is no better way of understanding the cards' messages. Take The Moon, for example, the most ambiguous card in the deck - and yet packed with layers within the illustration. We see a murky pond with a crayfish representing our primitive nature, raw instincts - emotions yet to be processed and refined. This uneasiness lends itself to the dogs howling at the moon, along with a sense of being driven out of our comfort zones, if not a little crazy. It is no coincidence that the word ‘lunatic’ itself derives from the Latin luna, meaning moon — reflecting the ancient association between the moon and madness. The Moon represents the Shadow still to be integrated, emotions yet to be understood - and yet, there looks to be a path across the water, and a landscape on the other side. There is a way out of The Moon's shadow - we will feel solid earth under foot again.
The Rider Waite deck also contains meaningful symbols that can really answer questions with depth, insight and clarity.

As I am also a Placidus astrologer, I also closely connect the spreads to astrological concepts.
