WHAT IS PLACIDUS ASTROLOGY?

Hi, I'm Caroline, a Placidus astrologer, based in Blackrock, Dublin.
My astrology readings use the Placidus method, interpreting planets, luminaries, signs, and houses. This integrated approach draws on ancient wisdom, recognizing the shared symbolic roots of all astrological methods.
Our connection to the cosmos is mysterious and intimate. The elements that make up our bodies— carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen—were created through nuclear fusion in the cores of stars. When these stars reach the end of their lifespan, they exploded as supernova and scatter these elements throughout space, which later contribute to forming planets and, eventually, living organisms.
As Carl Sagan famously said "we are made of star stuff".

I would particularly like to thank Vic DiCara Astrology for his profound teachings in Tropical Vedic Astrology ("radically classical, radically deep"). His focus on traditional Vedic principles provides a solid foundation that I integrate within the Placidus system, following the symbolic language of classical Vedic wisdom with Western chart interpretation.

An important influence within Vic DiCara’s teachings is the classical text Phaladeepika, by the 16th-century astrologer Mantreswara. This text is a cornerstone of Vedic astrology, renowned for its structured approach to planetary influences, signs, and houses. Mantreswara’s interpretations offer a profound understanding of how planets shape human experience and events. Astrology is a symbolic language that requires interpretation based on a foundation of core principals. Although intuitive insights may be gleaned, it is the chart itself that provides the answers.

In my readings, I examine your dominant planets, luminaries, asteroids, and fixed stars, along with the most important aspects of your chart. Aspects, such as harmonious trines and sextiles and challenging squares and oppositions highlight areas of ease and potential challenges in your life. Conjunctions with powerful planets like Pluto, or alignments with nebulous Neptune, for example, illustrate the intensity of different life challenges. Consideration of the north and south node of the moon, the eclipse points, help to paint a striking picture of your life path and aspects of your personality to integrate in order to reach your full potential.
Together, these elements help you to understand yourself more deeply.​

Understanding Astrology through Western Placidus Tradition

As a child, I was always fascinated by space, captivated by its infinite mysteries. For instance, one of my favorite videos available on YouTube: Universe at Scale, compares our sun, an ordinary orange dwarf star to hypergiant stars (factual information about space like this, just created ever more intriguing questions).
This early fascination later led me to the ancient wisdom of astrology, where after realizing we are far more complex than our sun sign, I discovered the interconnectedness between celestial phenomena and our human experience. I am also an experienced Usui reiki master teacher and my astrology sessions are conducted in a cleansed & prepared space.
